Four Conscious Reminders When Life Gets Hard


Self care is how you take your Power back. 


When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change. No matter where you are on your journey, here are four powerful reminders that are always worth coming back to.

1. Believe in Your-Self 


Whenever you notice self doubt creeping in, or thoughts that make you feel unworthy or you don't feel good enough, talk it over with your supportive alliances. I don't agree with the statement 'If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? Because I know from personal experience that when I didn't believe in myself, I was blessed to be surrounded by people who did.  Another way to help deal with this fog is to take a step back and replace these thoughts with positive, loving thoughts of self belief.


You must trust that you always have the ability to overcome anything that is sent your way. Remember that time in your life when everything went to shit and you were completely on your backside? You recovered from that didn't you? You will recover again!


2. Don’t Think. Feel Instead


Part of our human experience in this life is being able to understand and decide on things using our logical mind. While this is a blessing to have, sometimes it is important to remember that not everything can be understood from this place of thinking. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try things are just not going to make sense on a logical or practical level. When this occurs, it is important to stop thinking and start feeling instead. Our feelings are a powerful force that can actually be far more effective than trying to understanding anything from a place of thoughts.


The trick with using our feelings as a guide is to not let our logical mind analyse or interfere with this process. Meditation or taking a break away from this situation can help us gain real clarity. When we get busy with other things suddenly from nowhere the solution tends to appear.


3. Know Everything Will Make Sense Later

When you are in the midst of a crisis it can be tricky to hold your head above the water, while trying to find the gratitude and understand why things are unfolding the way that they are. Often the most difficult periods of our lives lead us to the best places, but it can be hard to see this when going through the motions. Remember no matter which path you're on, it all leads to the same place. There are no wrong paths. Find your centre and ask yourself what the next right move is, then take that step. Then from that space take the next right step.

When life is no longer making sense to you, it is almost always a sign that massive growth for transformation is currently underway. You need this experience to compete the lesson. During this process it is important to step out of the chaos for a moment and acknowledge that things will all make sense in the near future.


There is always an ending and always a resolution that will arise and the more you can trust that, the easier it will be to moving through the process. Things always work out and there is already a resolution to all of your problems, all you have to do is be Kind to yourself and keep moving forward.


4. You more than anyone else deserves your kindness

This is absolutely fundamental for our survival. This is not about wondering whether we are being selfish or not, it is simply about ensuring that your own cup has been filled before you start pouring into others. If you are running on empty, if you are suffering from physical symptoms, if you are feeling drained or overly sensitive, this is your body calling on you for a little self care and self love. We often forget how important it is to be kind and gentle towards ourselves. Speak to yourself like you would to a crying child and give yourself the same encouragement and love. Doing this on a daily basis can help to recharge and replenish your soul and can also help to align your vibration to an even higher frequency.


Sometimes it is necessary to let go of the way we want things to happen and simply accept things as the way they are. If you're anxious it can be a sign of trying to live in the future when living in the present moment is all any of us can do. When we start to do this, we open space for more relaxation and acceptance within ourselves and with others. It is through this that we can then feel guided and supported by the flow of Universe. Releasing the illusion of control also gives us space for new possibilities to emerge. We are always in a winning situation. We never really lose. We just learn.
